In pursuit of the McAuliffe Center's stated mission, the Center has established the Christa Corrigan McAuliffe Scholars Program to attract, recognize and encourage exceptionally talented students to study at Framingham State College. The Award Successful applicants for the McAuliffe Scholarship are awarded $1,000 toward full-time study for an academic year, and the scholarship may be renewed yearly for up to four years of study at the college. Seven new awards are made each year. Eligibility All prospective freshman and transfer day school students are eligible to make application for the McAuliffe Scholars Program. Undergraduate students at Framingham State College who have been enrolled full time for at least one semester, carrying a minimum of three course credits, may also apply for the scholarship. Selection Award decisions are based upon a careful review of the academic and special talents of each candidate.Christa Corrigan McAuliffe Scholars Awards will be granted to candidates who present exemplary academic credentials combined with noteworthy achievement in a special talent area. Prospective freshman students should present evidence of one of the following qualifications: combined SAT scores of 1100, weighted high school rank in the top 15th percentile, other evidence of outstanding academic achievement, or demonstrated talent in art, music, drama, creative writing, school or community leadership, or other similar area. Transfer students and matriculated students must present evidence of a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 for all completed academic degree work, or demonstrated talent in the areas noted for freshman.
