Mary Liscombe is the
Associate Director of the Christa McAuliffe Center and Challenger Learning
Center. Mary completed her undergraduate work at Framingham State College, and
holds a Master of Education in Technology from Lesley University.
Her classroom experiences include teaching science at the
Middle Schools in Holliston, MA and Blackstone-Millville, MA as
well as having been head of the science program at the Charles
River School in Dover, MA. There her duties included curriculum
development, science fair coordinator, and chairperson of the
faculty Community Service Committee.
As Associate Director of the Challenger Learning Center,
Mary enjoys working with both pre-service and in-service teachers to promote
inquiry-based, hands-on learning in the
classroom and the advancement of the use of technology. Recently she completed Teacher
Leader Workshops in the NASA Classroom of the Future's Astronomy
Village and is co-investigator with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for
Astrophysics Education Department for SEDNet, a dissemination grant program in
support of Project Aries, sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
Mary is also a PALMS teacher leader.
